This is a set of wooden nesting dolls, also known as Russian dolls or Matryoshka dolls. The first ever set of Russian nesting dolls was carved by a craft artist in 1890.

The wooden dolls, designed to look like rare animals, each decrease in size and fit inside one another. There are five dolls in this set including a giant panda, silver back gorilla, snow leopard, orangutan and pika (a rodent-like animal). Makes a great gift for animal lovers and fans of arts and crafts. The tallest of these nested dolls measures 5-1/2". Recommended for ages 14+.

Nativity Nesting Dolls

Have bought many of these over the years. (Used to be a lot less expensive!) Makes a terrific Christmas gift, especially as a keep sake for a new baby (not as a toy yet). Also a meaningful hostess gift. Displays nicely on a shelf or mantlepiece! Best thing you have! Tried earlier to purchase more, so please show it in your catalog before Thanksgiving.
